Meet Our Pastor And His Family
The Victory Free Will Baptist Church was organized in 1957. Since that time the church has had several pastors. In September of 2006 the church called Rev. Kevin D. Williford as her tenth. Pastor Kevin was saved as a result of the bus ministry of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Farmington, MO while still a young child. His acceptance of the call to the ministry also came at an early age while he was a freshman in high school.
Pastor Kevin received his Bachelor's of Arts at Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College in Moore, OK where he double majored in Missions and in Theology. His wife was also a student at Hillsdale and received he Bachelors of Arts in Missions. The pastor has taken mission trips to both Mexico and Russia, and his wife has taken multiple mission trips to Mexico.
After completing his undergraduate work Pastor Kevin moved his family to Kansas City where he began Master's studies at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He graduated with the Master of Divinity from Midwestern in 1996. He is currently taking some additional courses in preparation for Ph.D studies.
Before accepting the pastorate of the Victory Church, Kevin had served a total of 10 years in ministry. Interestingly, Victory had offered Kevin his first paid ministry position (serving as her youth pastor) when he first moved to Kansas City in 1996 to attend Seminary, but due to unforeseen events he was unable to accept the position at that time. Instead he took an Associate Pastorate in Parkville, MO where he served for five years. He then served 2 years as a Youth Pastor in Colorado Springs, CO, and as a Pastor for 3 years near Mountain Grove, MO.
In addition to serving as the full-time pastor to our church, Pastor Kevin also serves on the Christian Education Board for the Missouri State Association of Free Will Baptists, and was recently elected the assistant moderator of the Greater Kansas City District Association of Free Will Baptists. He also teaches as an adjunct professor at Drury University in Springfield, MO.
In 1992 Kevin married his youth camp sweetheart, Sheila Johnson. They have one child -- a three year old son. Sister Sheila is currently a full-time mom, but also finds time to serve as the nursery coordinator for the church and as the President of Victory's Women's Auxiliary.
